I'M GOING TO SEE JOSH GROBAN IN AUGUST!!!!! I'M SO EXCITED! CAN'T YOU TELL!
I haven't gone to a Josh Groban concert since 2013. I'm really excited to go see him in concert again. I bought tickets this morning and I snagged amazing seats! I'm going with three other people and we're sitting in the center section a few rows from the stage. It's going to be so much fun! Josh is performing at USANA Amphitheater on August 20, 2016.

Josh Groban. In The Round tour. Salt Lake City. October 11, 2013.
So this is a little after the fact. But here is my concert review. Keep in mind that most of the body of the post was written two days after the concert. And it a long post. So ... Enjoy.
* * * * *
Josh Groban was amazing on Friday night.
We decided to not take TRAX to and from the concert. Last time we went to a Groban concert we had to hurry over to the train because it was the last one. This time around I called UTA to ask them if they were running any extra trains after the concert. I was told that they were not and that the last train really was at 10:48pm. And if the concert ended at 10:30pm like I was estimating then we would never make it. So we made other transportation plans. Mom and I drove up to the University and parked at Eric and Carly’s apartment. Then Eric drove us, Carly, Mom, and I, downtown to the Energy Solutions Arena.
Once we were at ESA we needed to go to will call to pick up the tickets. It was really nice having them there. We didn’t have to stand in the giant line outside of all the people that already had their tickets in hand. I remember that last time. I was so excited and the line was going frustratingly slow. But this concert I was able to go directly to the will call window, hand my ID, and ten seconds I had my tickets. It was so easy.
Once we were upstairs on the main level we took a bathroom break, went to concessions, and then headed over to buy some Josh Groban merchandise. Those merchandise lines were disorganized and slow. Not the actual buying off items and the people behind the counter, but the lines. The fans in the lines. There wasn’t any set formation to the line so people were cutting in from the side and coming in from other lines. It was kind of annoying. I thought of a better way they could do the lines at the merchandise counters. They should use those line forming ropes and make it loop back and forth for two or three times. Then they have a Please Wait Here line on the floor at the end near the counter. And the attendants can help whoever is next in line. And the fans would know where the actual line is. If the line forms bigger than the ropes then that is a problem the fans have to kindly figure out. Yeah. Merchandise. Mom didn’t get anything. Carly got one of the same shirts I did. And I wanted all of the merchandise. I was so lovely. I like the merchandise that Josh Groban’s marketing team puts out. They are always so lovely. I decided on a cream colored t-shirt and an awesome keychain. I was going to get a key chain regardless of what else I got. I have on from the last major concert I went and I like the trend. And they are nice key chains. It’s kind of good that I didn’t bring my credit card and only had a set amount of cash on me. I probably would have bought more. lol.
When we finally got merchandise, we headed down to our seats. Seats on the floor. Which meant we got a wristband. I was actually really excited about that. It’s been two days and I’m still wearing my bright orange wristband. I’ll most likely wear it until it no longer makes me happy. But I smile every time I see it. We sat in section F1: row 3: seats 12-14. They weren’t the greatest seats in the world but I liked them. The stage was in the middle of the Arena floor. And then there were seats circling that. The sections were still square sections but somewhat facing the stage, of course. I felt like a lot of the concert Josh and company we facing away from us. But when he did come over to our side of the stage it was lovely. I can’t imagine sitting in one of the front row sections that are directly facing the stage. I would have died of delight. Maybe next concert.
When we were walking down to our seats the concert started. There was an opening act. Judith Hill was on tour with Josh this round. She has a really pretty voice. They ended up singing some duets together and I thought Judith’s voice complimented Josh’s very well. The concert started at 8pm and Judith’s set went for about a half hour.
After Judith the stage hands came put and moved the stage setup a bit. So we had about fifteen or twenty minutes to relax/freak out while we waited for Josh. At one point there was a “Josh, Josh, Josh” chant demand going on. That was fun. Sadly we didn’t do the wave this concert. lol. I did see Darren come out right by us. Josh’s main security guy was talking to the ESA security. I was excited because maybe Josh would be coming out right by us. That would have made my SO happy.
Josh Groban did come out around 9pm. Sadly, not by our section. The band and Josh came out opposite of us. It was cool because the band members started out up on the stairs that come down to the floor. As each one would play they got a spotlight lighted on them. It was fun. Tariqh got a big cheer. And then Josh ran out and we all went nuts. They started with ‘Brave’. That song is great and a perfect choice to start out with being that it is the single from ‘All That Echoes’. I wish that they’d play it more often on the radio though. I tried taking decent photos but it’s really hard to get good photos at a concert. I can barely manage one or two. I have a couple of overall stage shots that I like. By the way, the stage setup and lighting is actually very cool. During the songs I would geek out at the band members that I knew. Mom would ask me which one that one was of that one. I knew half of them. I knew Tariqh, Andre, and Christian. But I didn’t know the piano player. I think this is his first tour with Josh. I also did not know the trumpet player. But he was really good.
The songs Josh sang were:
'To Where You Are' was also sung. But for the life of me I cannot remember when it was sung. Near the beginning, I think.
I loved the concert. It was fun. Josh sang some of my favorite songs. I really liked the way they made 'Remember When It Rained' into a duet. It was interesting. And Josh still played the piano. I like when he plays the piano in that song. I also loved that he sang 'She Moved Through The Fair' and 'I Believe (When I Fall In Love)'. They are two of my favorite songs on the newest CD. Maybe off all his CDs. The band interlude was awesome. I loved that Josh came back on stage and rocked out on the drums with them. He always does that on tour so I should have been surprised. I guess I was expecting him back on stage so soon after he left. lol. There were a couple of times during the concert that Josh did a question and answer thing. He was hilarious. And I heard people talking about how they didn't know how funny he was. It makes me smile because I know how silly Josh Groban is. He is a hoot.
The concert ended around 10:45pm. We were walking out at 11pm. Eric picked us up from the Arena and we went back to their apartment to get our car. Then Mom and I drove home.
* * * * *
So pictures ... They are going to be blurry because it really hard to take good pictures during a concert.
And the loot. I got a key chain and a tshirt.
* * * * *
And that is a wrap. Bottom line ... I love Josh Groban and his concerts are so much fun.

Mom, myself, and Carly.
Judith Hill
A "Waiting for Josh" selfie.
Myself, Carly, and Mom. In our seats.
Yay. Josh.
Andre and Tariqh.
Andre and Tariqh.
Tariqh. He is so cool. (Josh playing piano in the background.)
One of Tariqh's many awesome mini solos. We love Tariqh. He has been with Josh since the beginning. And I hear that he gives really good hugs.
I really liked the lighting they had. It was pretty.
There were giant screens that would show Josh and the band. It was cool.
Band interlude.
Josh rocking the drums. He always looks like he has fun doing that.
One of the duets with Judith.
Probably my clearest picture of Josh. If that super bright light wasn't always on him I think I could have taken a decent photo of Josh.
The stage as we were leaving. They were already taking it down so they could head off to Las Vegas that night.
And the loot. I got a key chain and a tshirt.
It goes with the other concert key chain that I have. They were on my keys after the concert for a week or so. Then I took them off again.
The wristband stayed on my wrist for a week. And then I went to a wedding and decided I should take it off.
My nails were silver with one nail sparkly. It matched my sparkly belt and sparkly clutch that I wore/took to the concert.
Here is the shirt I got. I LOVE it!
And that is a wrap. Bottom line ... I love Josh Groban and his concerts are so much fun.

JG Concert = Awesome
Yep. The concert WAS awesome! I loved every minute of it. I don't think any of my photos turned out. But that's okay. I wasn't there to take photos. I was there to see Josh Groban sing live. He puts on a fantastic show! And I slightly lost my voice from screaming fanatically. I'll post my full concert post soon.

Thoughts That I have and Josh Groban
These past few weeks have been somewhat chaotic.
Eric and Carly are getting married in just over a week. And that's been happy-stressful. I'm a bridesmaid in the wedding party. Our dresses aren't getting here on time so we're going with completely different dresses. Grandma Higgins is going to make mine. I bought a pattern and fabric last night and I think I'll really like the dress. Right now I can't quite visualize it because I'm just so tired. lol.
With the wedding Mom and Amber and I threw Carly a bridal shower a couple of weeks ago. I was in charge of decorating and my idea wasn't coming together handmade. But I bought some decorations and it turned out way cute. I was very happy with how they turned out. I'll have to find some pictures of it all and post them.
Beyond the wedding stuff I've been working a lot. We had our last big event before the summer months. Supercross was on April 27 and it was super busy. We've had a few new people come to work with us. Some I get along with just fine. Other annoy me sometime. But I still get along with them.
There are some fun little camping trip vacations planned throughout the summer with the family. Mom and Dad are going to Alaska for one of Dad's conference things. They are taking extra time around the conference. So total they'll be gone 10 days. They are going in the first part of June. So they'll miss my actual 25th birthday on the 7th But that's okay. We'll celebrate when they get back. I don't have any personal vacations planned but we'll see what turns up later.
Since Josh Groban has a new CD out I knew that a tour was coming but on Monday (May 6th) they announced the actual North American tour dates. Yes. Josh Groban is coming to Salt Lake City. The problem was that I only had that night to decide if I was going and how many tickets to get. The Friends of Josh Groban (FOJG) presale started at 10am on Tuesday (May 7). I ended up buying three tickets. Mom and Carly are coming to the concert with me. I ended up getting really good seats. We're on row three in a really great section. It's right next to the stage on the floor. I'm really excited to see Josh Groban in concert. It's been years since I've been to a big arena concert. The last concert I went to in SLC was back in 2007. That's six years ago. The London concert (which was smaller and still tons of fun) was three years ago in 2010. Both concerts super fun but I miss seeing him live. I didn't go to the bigger concert for the Illuminations CD tour back 2011. And I was sad. So I decided I'm going to every single one for as long as I can possibly afford it. lol. Josh Groban puts on a fabulous concert.
I think that's all I had on my mind for now.
Have a great day!

All That Echoes
Who want's my thoughts about the songs on Josh Groban's newest CD? No one? Too bad. You get them anyways.
Brave
Brave we've been listening to for a few months. But I absolutely love it. I love how the melodies intertwine in this song. The lyrics are awesome to.
False Alarms
It's sort of heavenly in the beginning with the piano. I love it throughout actually. Josh's voice is gorgeous. I got goosebumps a few time during this song. When Josh goes a bit falsetto is when I melt. His voice is great.
Falling Slowly
I have always loved this song. Ever since I first heard I wanted Josh to cover it. And he does a fabulous job. I'm so happy that he has it on this CD. Josh's voice and this song work so well together. I love it. I like how they kept the simple melody of the song too. It's just Josh creating his version of a beautiful song.
She Moved Through the Fair
I really like this song too. I never thought about Josh singing. But this version...SO COOL. He sings slowly in the beginning and it's gorgeous. I like the highland Irish feel that the music carries. It's pretty. This song is very sweeping and melodic. And when you add Josh Groban to that mix it's awesome.
Below the Line
This song is kind of plucky and fun. It's got some sort of fun guitar plucking line throughout that is cool. The lyrics are good. It's about living below you potential and striving to reach it.
E Ti Prometterò (And I Promise You) featuring Laura Pausini
The first non-English song on the album. I like the heartbeat of music that is in the beginning. Laura is incredible as always. I really like her voice. She and Josh are gorgeous singing in Italian together. His baritone and her mezzo-soprano voices work quite well together.
The Moon's a Harsh Mistress
It's a simple song. Just Josh and the piano in the beginning with slow sweeping violins behind. I liked this song overall it was very pretty. I wonder if ...
Un Alma Mas (A Soul) featuring Arturo Sandoval
This song is pretty. I like the melody and the beat of the song. Arturo is a jazz trumpeter. I've always liked the sound of the trumpet when played well. And in this song the little solos that he gets are beautiful.
Happy in My Heartache
This song is the happiest heartache song. It's awesome though. I'm really glad Josh wrote it and is sharing it with the world. I really like the way Josh's voice is in the song. It's like he just sat down and decided to record a song. He is not a well-renowned baritone singer in this song. He is just a mid-twenties guy who plays music and had is heart broken. I like this song a lot actually.
Hollow Talk
This song is hauntingly beautiful. I love the pulse of the piano and the melody. The lyrics are pretty too. This song is simple as far as music and melody go but it works so well. This is great. The music is simple and quiet until it hits the arc then it becomes powerful and commanding. But it works in the song.
Sincera (Sincere)
This song is pretty. I like everything about it. The sweeping of the song and Josh's voice. I love it's in Italian. It sounds so romantic. And the awesome organ and piano combination is way cool.
I Believe (When I Fall in Love It Will Be Forever)
When Josh mentioned that this was going to be one of the songs on the album I was very excited to here what they would do with this song. And it is so pretty. I think this my be my favorite song on the album. The arrangement is so awesome and pretty at the same time. This cover of Stevie Wonder's song is so great for Josh to sing. I highly approve. And the way that Josh sings that last "When I fall in love" is so cool. I melted and giggled a bit too much. It was wonderful.
Changing Colours
After Josh did this song live during a concert all of us Grobanites fell in love with it. We all really wanted a studio version. And Josh gave us one. It's beautiful. I really love this song. It's one of my favorites on the CD.
Satellite
When Josh told us he was covering this Dave Matthews song I was very excited to here it. I love the harp in this song. When Josh first started singing I shivered and got goosebumps. His voice makes me melt in this song. I loved this song to begin with but Josh's versions is so much more awesome then the original. Well, it's different awesome. Josh sings it so wonderfully. I like the soft melodies intertwined with his voice. This arrangement is perfect. Also one of my favorites on the album.
Grazie (Thanks)
This song is very pretty. I like Josh's vocals in this song. They are soft and lovely. And the sweeping strings and lovely piano melodies. This song is a perfect way to end the fan edition CD. So lovely.
Brave

So lovely.
In the Mailbox and on the Plate
I was so happy yesterday that my copy of Josh Groban's newest CD came yesterday. I hugged the mail out by the mailbox.
I didn't listen to 'All That Echoes' though because I had things I needed to do. Like finish my laundry eat dinner, and go to FHE. But I plan on listening to it in a few minutes.
At FHE we decorated plates (or mugs or bowls) with Sharpie markers. I chose a quote from Doctor Who that I think is funny. It makes me laugh every time I hear it. And I really like how it turned out. We baked (and cooled) the dishware after decorating to set the color. But I plan on using it as decoration more then anything.
